If you’ve ever wondered how to develop the heart-centered aspects of meditation, or have yearned to be more kind-hearted towards yourself or others, this half-day retreat daylong will be a perfect next step for you. We will focus on the timeless teachings of the Brahma-Viharas – Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Appreciative Joy and Equanimity – also known as ‘The Four Sublime States’ or ‘Divine Abodes.’ These teachings are a training for the heart to reside in its original state of loving awareness and open-heartedness, and each Brahma-Vihara holds its own unique flavor of love and meditative quality to incorporate into your meditation practice and daily life.
In this half-day retreat you will explore the Brahma-Viharas in formal meditation practice, dharma teachings, and personal reflection. There will be periods of walking meditation and time for group discussion at the end of the retreat.
