Mindful Eating is one of the main intersections of mind-body health and wellness. Mindfulness helps us bring our attention to the present moment, non-judgmentally, and we can apply this principle to our eating patterns and behaviors.
In mindful eating, we explore what drives us to eat, and untangle different types of hunger from physiological hunger to emotional hunger. As we practice becoming familiar with our bodies’ natural sensations, cues to eat, and develop awareness of satiety, we learn how to make new choices around food and eating. In this workshop, we will investigate our history and relationship with food, learn the language of our own unique bodies, and uncover what it means to eat for both pleasure and survival in a balanced way, while engaging awareness, mindful attention, and wise choice-making based on our inner wisdom.
