Intro
A warm welcome to Bloom - a series of metamorphic teachings and meditations on how to cultivate qualities of the heart through your meditation practice.
Throughout the next week, you will learn about a traditional set of practices referred to as ‘The Heart Practices.’ These meditations focus on building and strengthening your heart’s ability to be open, awake and compassionate, just like mindfulness trains the mind to be in the present moment.
When blooming a practice, you not only step into your heart space during meditation, you become heart-based in your life so you can live from a state of heart-centered awareness.
You will forgive more easily, heal yourself deeply, let things go with more ease and live with more grace. You will also come to learn how your practice impacts your relationships and the world around you.
In Bloom, both you and your meditation practice will open and expand. Be nurturing with yourself as you practice these meditations and remember compassion starts at ground zero - with you.
This week will break you open in the best of ways. Stay open, settle in and continue to walk down your path of practice.
I am so glad you are here. Welcome Home.
Bloom Practice Notes:
Each day, you will build your meditation time from 25 minutes to 35 minutes.
In Bloom, there are longer periods of silence without continual guidance. So you have time to practice the meditation techniques you are learning while resting in your own stillness and silence, which is an important step in a maturing meditation practice.
You will have a ‘mindful mantra’ to work with each day as part of your teachings and meditations. These mindful mantras are supportive guiding phrases for the mind, nervous system and heart and are meant to be silently repeated to the mind instead of spoken out loud.
At the end of the meditations in Bloom, you are guided to bring your hands palms together in a prayer hand to the center of your chest and then to your forehead. This is a traditional way to end a meditation practice and if it does not resonate with you - place your hands over your heart or remain sitting in your meditation posture instead.
In your Bloom Digital Practice Journal, there is a practice notes page for each day where you can journal your insights, experiences and what comes through for you during your meditations. Use this as an extra resource this week as you explore the realms of your heart.
